Zelda Returns in New ‘Pet Sematary’ TV Spot

While Stephen King’s Pet Sematary is largely about the supernatural and the dead coming back to life, it also focuses on grief and how death effects people emotionally. And King took all of these themes and created Zelda, the unfortunate sister of Rachel Creed who suffered from spinal meningitis. Her untimely death ended up haunting Rachel for years to come, both in dreams and otherwise, and the original 1989 adaptation showcased that perfectly. But now the latest interpretation looks to try and beat the old adaptation – by portraying Zelda with more horror than ever.

As you can see in the newest TV spot for Pet Sematary, Zelda gets a few seconds of screen time crawling on the floor in wretched agony. Rachel is clearly terrified and it all falls together as an awful hint of what’s to come. Truly, I’m excited to see how they portray Zelda. There’s a lot of memories for people who grew up watching the original Pet Sematary where Zelda scared the hell out of them. It’s going to be cool seeing a new generation feel the same way.

Actress Alyssa Brooke Levine plays Zelda in the newest installment, while she was portrayed by actor Andrew Hubatsek in the original.
